List of native species known from the Bay of Plenty area, includingthose collected during the 17th New Zealand Fungal Foray - based on specimens deposited in the New Zealand Fungal Herbarium (PDD).
The names indicated by an * are new records for the Kaimai Ranges and adjacent areas of native vegetation, names indicated by a # are previously recorded fungi recollected during the Foray (based on previous PDD records). The numbers of species known from the region were approximately doubled during the Foray. 95% of the 154 species collected during the Foray are new records for the area.
Many of the identifications have not been checked critically, and the list should be considered a draft only. Voucher specimens have been stored in PDD and will be available for future verification as required.
