UPDATE: Due to COVID-19 the 2020 Foray is cancelled. More detail below.

We will be based at Stewart Island Community Centre, Ayr Street, Oban. There will be four days for foraying and specimen study, with the 19^th Mycology Colloquium talking place on Wednesday April 29^th. Please note, this year we are restricting numbers to around 45 participants, due to the logistical challenges presented by running the foray on Stewart Island. We will also initially accept registrations for the full foray only. Final details for the timing of daily activities will be provided on the first morning, but expect to be arranging your own breakfast, then meeting at the centre from 8:00am for the foray days. Dinners will be served at a variety of locations. This year, we will be setting up the hall from Monday morning so anticipate that excursions leaving that morning may start a little later than normal. However, lunches will be provided for us pre-bagged, and there are lots of spots to foray that are a close walk, so there will still be plenty of time for collecting.

The 2018 Fungal foray will be held at Lake Brunner, 6–12 May 2018.

We will be based at the Moana Hall (corner of Ahau and Kehu Streets): Google maps. The foray will be held in the town of Moana, there are three main options for getting here (ranked by travel time).

The 2015 29th NZ Fungal Foray will be held at Camp Wakarara near the Ruahines (map: https://goo.gl/maps/eNGbx) between Sunday 17 May 2015 to Saturday 23 May 2015.

Update 24 Oct 2014: Change of location! The foray will now be based at Sixtus Lodge, West Ruahine, Manawatu between Sunday 17 May 2015 to Saturday 23 May 2015.

THE 23rd NZ FUNGAL FORAY, WAIKANAE, May 2009

Introduction

The 23rd New Zealand Fungal Foray was held conjointly with the Australasian Mycological Society Conference 10–16 May 2009 at Waikanae on the Kapiti Coast, Wellington. Accommodation was at El Rancho Christian Holiday Camp and 33 people attended the foray. Visitors came from USA, Australia, Tasmania, Japan, England and Sweden.

The 2014 28th NZ Fungal Foray will be held in Golden Bay, northwest South Island between 11-17 May 2014. Accommodation is at Pohara Beach Top 10 Holiday Park and microscopes, etc., will be set up in the nearby Pohara Hall.

We will need to have confirmed bookings by March.  After that they will release any unused bookings. More details will follow later. 

THE 22^nd NZ FUNGAL FORAY, DUNEDIN, May 2008

One of the great things about our fungal forays is that we get people from all over the world coming along to foray with us. The 22^nd NZ Fungal Foray was no different, with 49 people attending from New Zealand, Great Britain, Tasmania, USA, Sweden and Japan.

Registration and payment due by: 31^st March 2013. Download registration form at the end of this page. The 2013 foray will be based at Matawai, midway between Opotiki and Gisborne, in the East Cape region, from Sunday 12th May to Saturday 18th May 2013. The area offers a wide variety of vegetation types, including Nothofagus, podocarp and broadleaf forests.
