The 2026 fungal foray was held at Karamea in the South Island (West Coast). From 19th – 25th April 2026 at "The Last Resort". It was the first foray for a number of years where accommodation, hall facilities and meals were all in the same facility.

The rare and endangered Macrocystidia reducta (Fishy Pouch Fungus) smells a bit like rotten fish and looks like a pouch. It is only found on Banks Peninsula in native podocarp forest, listen below for the audio clip, and for more information check out these links:
